February is American Heart Month, and since heart disease is the number one cause of death in America, we're raising awareness about heart health, encouraging heart disease prevention, and supporting research. This Friday, February 7, is National Wear Red Day, which draws attention to cardiovascular disease as the top killer of women. Please help showcase the importance of heart health by dressing in red and supporting a good diet, exercise, regular check-ups, productive sleep, and stress reduction efforts, especially in the women you love! ❤️ #everyage #nationalwearredday #hearthealth #cardiovascularhealth ... Recently, Piedmont Federal Bank in the Palladium at Deep River Shopping Center was collecting winter clothing for people in western NC devastated by Hurricane Helene. A bank employee (who just happens to be resident Molly Pack’s grandson!) told us of the collection efforts, and resident Barbara Conner's daughter, Karen, bought her a gadget for knitting hats. Other residents were intrigued and bought one for themselves, along with activities assistant Sherrie Reece. Karen gathered the group for a tutorial and taught them how to knit hats using the machines, and together, they produced 56 hats to donate to people in need! It was a fun, meaningful activity for residents and friends of Westchester Harbour (our assisted living community), and the group is continuing to make hats for other worthy causes! #providenceplace #seniorliving #highpointnc #retirementcommunity #assistedliving #communitylove #doinggood #purposedriven #helpingneighbors #NCStrong ... Cool. I can’t crochet because that darn little dog jumps in my lap and scratches my hands to rub her. I have her locked in the bathroom now. She is getting on my nerves!!
